Import of Sugar and Sugar Confectioneries
    • 1. The Authorized importer intending to import Sugar and Sugar Confectioneries should apply for import permit from the Sugar Board of Tanzania
    • 2. The importer should also apply for import permit from TFDA
    • 3. The Importer should also apply for plant import permit from the Ministry of Agriculture
    • Company Registration Certificate and Business license from BRELA
    • TIN Certificate and Tax Clearance Letter from TRA
    • Certificate of Conformity (CoC) from TBS
    • Certificate of origin from the exporting country
    • A letter of comfort from their banker about capacity to undertake the importation and clearance
    • Business Permit from TFDA
    • Bill of lading/airway bill from the importer
    • Profoma invoice from the Supplier (Consignee)
    • Certificate of analysis from the competent regulatory body from the exporting country
    • Radiation free certificate from the exporting country
    • Certificate from SBT (Sugar Board of Tanzania)
    • Certificate of Origin from the exporting country
    • Sugar and Sugar Confectioneries Import Permit, SBT
    • Health certificate from TFDA
    • Plant import permit from Ministry of Agriculture
    • USD 5 for plant import permit fees from Ministry of Agriculture
    • USD 6 per ton for import levy to SBT
    • 2% of CIF value or 2% of USD 460 per metric ton whichever is higher
    • TFDA, Refers to fees and charges regulation, 2015
    • 01 to 03 working days for Sugar and Sugar Confectioneries permit (Applicable prior to Board Registration)
    • 01 to 03 working days for import permit, TFDA
    • 01 to 03 working days for plant import permit, Ministry of Agriculture
