Import of Tea
    • 1. The Importer should also apply for Plant Import Permit from Ministry of Agriculture
    • 2. The Importer should apply for Tea Import Permit to the Tea Board of Tanzania (TBT), Directorate of Regulatory Services.
    • 3. Importation of Tea to be subjected to Maximum Residual Level Standards (MRLS) for Pesticides as determined by TPRI (Tropical Pesticides Research Institute).
    • 4. Before Importation a tea sample has to be sent to Tea Board for MRLS test.
    • 5. The importer should apply the permit to the TFDA through TFDA online portal
    • Company Registration Certificate from BRE
    • TIN Certificate and Tax Clearance Letter from TRA
    • Valid Business License from BRELA
    • Certificate of conformity from TBS
    • Business Permit from TFDA
    • Bill of lading/airway bill from the importer
    • Profoma invoice from the Supplier (Consignee)
    • Certificate of analysis from the competent regulatory body from the exporting country
    • Radiation free certificate from the exporting country
    • Phytosanitary certificate
    • Certificate from TTB (Tanzania Tea board)
    • Certificate of Origin from the exporting country
    • Plant Import Permit, Ministry of Agriculture
    • Tea Import Permit, TBT
    • Health Certificate, TFDA
    • Payment of Tshs 1,000,000/=) as the initial cost of the permit and thereafter each Importer shall pay US $ Cents 1.25 per kg for every Consignment to the Tea Board of Tanzania
    • TZS 0 for Plant Import Permit, Ministry of Agriculture
    • TFDA, Refers to fees and charges regulation, 2015
    • 01 to 02 working days for tea import permit, TBT
    • 01 to 02 days for Plant Import Permit, Ministry of Agriculture
    • 01 to 02 days for registered product, up to 25 days for non-registrable product after receiving pre-shipment sample, TFDA
