Tanzania International Manufacturers Expo (TIMEXPO 2024): A Landmark Event in Industrial Growth

The second edition of the Tanzania International Manufacturers Expo (TIMEXPO 2024), held from September 26th to October 2nd, 2024, at the Saba Saba Grounds, was an overwhelming success, attracting over 10,500 attendees and showcasing the potential of Tanzania's manufacturing sector. The opening ceremony was officiated by Hon. Dotto Biteko, the Deputy Prime Minister of Tanzania, who emphasized the importance of local industries in the nation's economic growth. The closing ceremony was presided over by Hon. Selemani Jafo, the Minister of Industry and Trade, marking the conclusion of a week filled with dynamic exhibits, discussions, and networking.

Biteko emphasized that the origin of this exhibition stems from government directives under former President Dr. John Pombe Magufuli to promote Tanzanian-made products. He expressed satisfaction with the ongoing efforts by CTI and TANTRADE to implement these directives.

Jafo directed key regulatory and facilitative institutions like SIDO, BRELA, TBS, TMDA, and FCC to play an active role in future exhibitions, providing public education, addressing challenges in the industrial sector, and ensuring effective service delivery.
