CTI Hosts the Minister for Industry and Trade, Hon. Judith Kapinga (MP).

On 24th November 2025, the Confederation of Tanzania Industries (CTI) had the honour of hosting the Minister for Industry and Trade, Hon. Judith Salvio Kapinga (MP), at its offices, accompanied by the Permanent Secretary, Dr. Hashil Twaib Abdallah, and other senior officials from the Ministry. The visit marked an important milestone in strengthening collaboration between the Government and the private sector, particularly in advancing the growth and competitiveness of Tanzania’s industrial sector.

The engagement provided a valuable platform for open, constructive, and forward-looking dialogue on key issues shaping the present and future of industrial development in Tanzania. Discussions focused on creating a more enabling business and investment environment, improving the competitiveness of local industries in regional and global markets, aligning investment and trade policies with current economic reforms, ensuring a reliable and affordable energy supply, expanding access to domestic and international markets, and promoting value addition to locally produced raw materials and goods.


During the working session, CTI emphasized its readiness and commitment to continue working closely with the Government to identify challenges affecting industries, develop joint and practical solutions, and unlock new opportunities that can accelerate sustainable industrial growth. The dialogue reaffirmed the importance of strong public–private sector partnerships as a cornerstone for building a resilient, competitive, and industrialized economy.


CTI reiterated that the industrial sector remains a critical pillar of Tanzania’s economy, with the capacity to create employment, enhance value addition in agriculture and natural resources, increase domestic and export trade, and drive inclusive economic growth. In this regard, CTI underscored the need for consistent policy engagement and collaborative problem-solving to strengthen industrial productivity and competitiveness.

Speaking during the engagement, CTI Chairman, Mr. Hussein Suphian, highlighted that close cooperation between the Government and industrial stakeholders is essential to realizing Tanzania’s vision of becoming a strong, sustainable, and industrial-based economy. He noted that effective collaboration can significantly reduce barriers to industrial growth and improve the overall business climate.


CTI Chairman also acknowledged that Hon. Minister Kapinga has assumed office at a time when Tanzania is implementing important economic and structural reforms. In this context, the Confederation reaffirmed its willingness to work hand in hand with the Ministry to support reform implementation, improve investor-friendly policies, strengthen value chains from raw materials to finished products, and enhance the global competitiveness of Tanzanian industries.


In the broader context, Hon. Minister Kapinga reaffirmed the Government’s strong commitment to improving Tanzania’s business climate, attracting both local and foreign investment, and expanding employment opportunities through improved infrastructure, supportive industrial policies, and targeted interventions to strengthen the manufacturing base. She emphasized that the Government views the private sector as a strategic partner in achieving sustainable industrialization and long-term economic transformation.


CTI expressed its sincere appreciation to the Honorable Minister and her delegation for the visit and for the spirit of partnership shown. The Confederation regards this engagement as the beginning of a productive, results-oriented, and long-term dialogue that brings renewed confidence, clear direction, and a shared vision for strengthening the role of industry in driving Tanzania’s economic transformation.
