Export of Tea
  • Steps
    • 1. The exporter must apply for phytosanitary certificate from PHS
    • 2. The exporter seeks for plant export permit and a stamp from the Ministry of Agriculture
    • 3. The Exporter make an application for Tea quality certificate from the Tea Board of Tanzania (TBT)
    • 4. The exporter makes an application for Tea export permit from the Tea Board of Tanzania (TBT), Director General
    • 5. The Exporter need to apply for the Health certificate from TFDA upon request by the importing country
  • Inputs
    • Company Registration Certificate and Business License from BRELA
    • TIN certificate and Tax clearance letter from TRA
    • Import permit from the importing country
    • Radiation certificate from TAEC
    • Certificate of origin from TCCIA
  • Outputs
    • Phytosanitary Certificate, PHS
    • Plant Export Permit, Ministry of Agriculture
    • Tea quality certificate, TBT
    • Health Certificate, TFDA
  • Cost
    • 15 USD for phytosanitary certificate from PHS and Payment of inspection fees is based on the weight of consignment.
    • 1% Sales fee for values of export and Local sales (under discussions), TBT
    • TZS 0 for Health Certificate, TFDA
    • TZS 0 for Tea Quality Certificate, TBT
    • TZS 0 for Plant Export Permit, Ministry of Agriculture
    • TZS 0 for phytosanitary certificate, PHS

    • 01 to 02 working days for phytosanitary certificate
    • 01 to 02 working days for Tea quality certificate
    • 01 to 02 working days for export permit
    • 01 to 03 working days for health certificate
    • 01 to 02 days for plant export permit
